Proposal Ideas
How a man presents his future bride with the engagement ring is arguably more important than the ring itself. Think about that moment, he’s asking a woman to spend the rest of her life with him. The presentation of the engagement ring is a declaration of his love and devotion. Truly, a heartfelt proposal will stand the test of time. So, to help you come up with a few ideas you might consider some of the following:

  • Proposing in a beautiful setting or a place with a great view is hard to beat. For example: on top of a mountain, a high building overlooking the city lights, a beautiful waterfall or garden. She still has to be surprised. You’ll want to be very cool and casual or she’ll know something is up.
  • If her family gets together for the holidays this can be a great opportunity to enlist their help and propose while everyone is gathered for dinner. You might have your accomplice place the ring box right on top of the turkey. You could let everyone in on the plan or, not.
  • Does she frequent a particular place (e.g. gym, coffee shop, post office). This could be a nice set up. Perhaps you could have the bank teller give her the ring at the drive thru while you wait for the appropriate time to reveal yourself, on one knee of course.
  • There could be a good opportunity at her work. Get the help of her co-workers and use your imagination. Maybe, you put yourself in a large special delivery box for her to open and out you pop to pop the question.
  • The box idea could also be used at her house or a family gathering. Don’t forget to ventilate the box good.
  • Do you watch videos together? We know a gentleman that could copy a movie and dub in your own “commercial” at the perfect time and there you’d be popping the question on TV.
  • On the golf course, arrange for the trusted group in front of you to place the ring in the cup of the 18th hole. When she putts in, you pop the question. With a little advanced planning you could have a gallery of family and friends come out to the green at the right time. This could work on miniature golf as well.
  • I know a guy that was flying home and his intended was going to meet him at the airport. He bought some roses and asked fellow passengers to give her a rose as they got off the plane (he showed them a picture so they knew what she looked like). Last but not least, he appeared with another dozen roses and an incredible ring.
  • We’ve soldered the ring around the stem of a champagne flute before and after a toast the glass is broken to get the ring. This is a great presentation if you can get the help of that special restaurant to bring the glasses out at the perfect time. We call this the “break the glass not my heart” proposal.
