Hi Neighbor
What makes a good neighbor? I am impressed by the generosity and genuine affection that neighbors sometimes have for one another, commemorating and celebrating the milestones in each other’s lives. In particular, I’m thinking of the couple who brought in the baptismal pictures of their neighbor’s twins, dressed in white, looking all shiny. These neighbors had been invited to the baptism and wanted just the right gift to celebrate this religious milestone, even though they were not of the same religion—just good neighbors. Another couple whose neighbor’s son would soon be taking his first communion wanted to celebrate with their friends and mark this family event with a special gift. I’m just plain impressed, and I think I have something to learn from them. What is the secret of being a good neighbor? Maybe the first step is just getting to know each other a little better and celebrating life together.

Pat in Love
Saturday night my husband and I LOL at the comedy of Patrick McManus, “Patrick in Love,” performed by Tim Behrens at the Colonial Arts Theater. Tim has been in Idaho Falls before and we knew we were in for a great date! McManus fans might like to know that this month Pat and Bun will celebrate their 57th anniversary. Congrats, Pat!
Park Art
If you haven’t walked the green belt lately, get on your tennies and trip over to the river. The new “Art You Can Sit On” benches are terrific. I have my favorites, like the bench dedicated to Louis Armstrong, “It’s a Wonderful World.” The words sum up our glorious world. Love it! The “A- Lure” bench is creativity with a sense of humor, and “Whirlpool” is cool. Check them out. I’d like to hear which ones are your favorites.
